Lorna was predeceased by her husband, Leonard (January 8, 1964), her brother, Ernie Krebs; and her sister, Nora Thomson. Lorna's gentle and giving nature will be preserved in the memories of her loving family.

She is survived by her three sons; Ted (Sandee) of Josephburg, Duart (Marilyn) of Edmonton and Murray (Liz) of Sherwood Park. Lorna was a devoted grandmother to Laura (Darren), Nancy (Mark), Ian, Karla (Tim), Andrea, Gavin, Katie, Michael; also four great-grandchildren. Mabel Bird of Edmonton passed away at the age of 97 years. She will be sadly missed by her children and 1-laws, Ray (Joan) and of Cor of Brussels, Ontario, Marjorie Ferguson Edmonton, (Bob) Lawrence of Edmonton, Ernie (Maureen) of Vernon, B.C.; her 18 very caring grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Marguerite and many other relatives and friends. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Paulette was born to Laura and James Collins and grew up in Fort Kent, Alberta. She later moved to Calgary with husband Martin and raised three children.

Later, she resumed teaching and performed various community services. She served as President of Le Club de Lamitie, on the executives of Les Dames de Ste-Famille, and of the ACFA regionale. Her singing, sewing and especially culinary skills were greatly enjoyed by family and friends. Paulette is survived her loving family, children, Sol, Lily and Joanne (AI Nildeman); grandson, Torrenz; brother, Edwin Collins; and sister, Lily Collins-Dooley. Her generosity towards others is an example for many to follow.

ELENIAK, Annie Annie Eleniak passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Auxiliary Hospital on January 10, 2000, at the age of 94 years, 8 months. She was predeceased by her husband, Mike Eleniak. Annie is survived by two loving daughters, Angeline Lambert of Vancouver and Joan Idland of Edmonton; three grandchildren, Deborah Heyden of Stony Plain, Kevin Idland of Fort McMurray, Patricia Muller of Vancouver; and three great and several nieces and nephews. A private family service was held at Hainstock's Funeral Home on Thursday, January 13, 2000.

The family wishes to give special thanks to the staff at St. Joseph's Hainstock's Auxiliary Funeral Hospital. Home Crematorium. Phone 440-2900. -121491 LAFORGE, Edna Irene (nee Taje) Edna Irene LaForge (nee Taje) passed away quietly in Burnaby, B.C., on January 9, 2000.

Born March 9, 1915, in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, as the sixth of 14 children born to Abner Alexander and Anna (Eckberg) Taje. Edna was educated in Edmonton. She married Lorne R. LaForge of Westlock, Alberta in 1933, and lived in the farming community until 1940. When her husband went overseas in the 2nd World War, Edna returned to Edmonton with her two sons, Ronald V.

and A. Keith. She trained and worked as an optician from 1940 to 1948, then took secretarial training and worked in insurance for several years. Her eldest son (Ronald) was diagnosed with M.S. in 1952 and Edna became involved in volunteer work with handicapped support groups in Edmonton.

In 1956, she was instrumental in the formation of the Edmonton Chapter of The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada. With her focus on patients and caregiver support, she worked on the development of chapters of that society throughout the three prairie provinces until 1980, when she retired from the position of Executive Director Prairie Division of the M.S. Society of Canada. During that same period, she served the Alberta Council for Crippled Children and Adults as chairman of the Adult Section (6 years) and of the Accommodation Section (3 years). For the Edmonton Social Planning Council, she chaired the committee which activated Edmonton Handi Buses as transportation for the disabled, and was instrumental in obtaining advance poll voting rights for handicapped and senior citizens.

Additionally, she was a Charter member and Executive Committee member of The Edmonton Interagency Council, and a member of The Advisory Committee Alberta Library Services to the handicapped. She also enjoyed a 16 year period as the volunteer hostess of CKUA's weekly radio program "Operation which focused on news and information directed to the shut-in's in Edmonton. Edna's work and service to the handicapped was formally recognized by the Federal Government with a Centennial Medal; by the Province of Alberta, with an Alberta Achievement Award (1982); and by the M.S. Society, the Edmonton Rehabilitation Society, and the Alberta Rehab Council with Merit Awards. Upon retirement from the M.S.

Society, Edna commenced studies with the Lutheran Church, and graduated as a Stephens Minister in March 1983, an achievement from which she derived great pleasure. Predeceased by her husband, Lorne (1980) and her son, Ronald (1988), Edna is survived by her son, Keith (Pattie); six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, all living in the Vancouver area. She is also survived by sisters, Myrtle Stromberg, Eileen (Gordon) Rud; and brothers, Herbert (Clara) and David (Terry), who live in the Edmonton region. She has numerous nephews and nieces, who with their children, will miss their "Auntie Edna'. At Edna's request, no formal services will be held.

LAZARUK, Anne On the twelfth day of January 2000, our beloved Anne Lazaruk passed away peacefully at the age of 83 in the care and support of family and loved ones. Anne was predeceased by her husband, Paul; and parents, Mary and Kosmer Chernochan of Smoky Lake. She will be fondly remembered by her sister, Kathleen Carlson of Gig Harbor; and her five children, Maryann MacLean, Joey (Gilbert) Flodberg, Terry (Bonnie) Lazaruk, Evelyn Lazaruk, and Walt (Sherri) Lazaruk. Anne will be survived by her eight grandchildren, Jason, Chris, Scott, Ann, Wesley, Katlyn, Brock and Kristin; and her three great-grandchildren, Lindsay, Amanda and Taylor.

Anne radiated to those around her tremendous feelings of love, humor and caring. Through her wonderful food and sharp wit, Anne had a true power for bringing her family and friends together. This beautiful person will always be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend to all of us. Despite physical challenges in her old age, Anne remained strong in heart and mind to the end, and will be greatly missed by all. -124618 McNALLY, Edna Born on April 9, 1915 in Edmonton, Alberta, passed away peacefully at the Rockyview Hospital on Tuesday, January 11, 2000. She leaves to mourn her loss a loving husband of 58 years, Vern; her daughters, Carol (Peter) and Nicole (Glenn); her son, Doug (Darlene); six grandchildren, Tracy, Trevor (Libby), Daryl, DeAnn (Ron), Blaine and Steven; one greatgranddaughter, Cassie; two brothers, Dave (Edna) and Harold; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Edna led an active and full life. Edna enjoyed playing bridge and golf. Her real favorite was travelling and up until recently we did our share.

He is survived by his wife, Irene of 50 years; two sons and one daughter, Robert, his wife, Debbie and their children, Ryan and Kristina, Brian, his wife Vicky and their children, Tara and Kristy, Lori, her husband Brian and their children Daniel and Caitlyn. He also leaves to mourn his sisters-in-law, Pauline Prybysh, Pauline Eleniak, Adele (Allan) Koshka; brothers-in-law, Walter (Emelia) Eleniak, Steve (Anne) Eleniak, Paul Eleniak, Stan (Irene) Eleniak, Lawrence (Betty) Eleniak; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Predeceased by parents, Nick and Anne and brother, Andrew; his father and mother-in-law, John (Anne) Eleniak; brothersin-law, Isaac Prybysh and Peter Eleniak. Velva was 9 years old when she and her family moved to Turner Valley where her father Martin Hovis was head driller on the Dingman Oil Discovery Well in 1914. She attended schools in the Turner Valley area and in Calgary.

Her life was spent in the oilfields and the past 50 years in Edmonton. She was an ardent bowler and bridge player. She was also a member of the Edmonton Oilwives Club for 48 years. She will be sadly missed by her son, Ray Wickens (Bea) of Calgary; one daughter-in-law, Eileen Wickens of Edmonton and three daughters, Darlene Lanouette (Ray) of Edmonton, Myrna Boscher (Bob) of Drayton Valley and Carrol Paszek (Henry) of Edmonton; 19 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Vern Mowat in 1968 and a son, Laurence in 1986 and by her parents; two brothers and three sisters.

At Velva's request there will be no funeral services. At her special request her body has been donated to the University of Alberta diversion of Anatomy for medical education. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the University of Alberta Anatomy Fund (501 Medical Sciences Building, University of Alberta, Edmonton, T6G 2E1). A Celebration of her Life for family and friends will be held at St. Charles Parish Hall, upstairs, on January 16, 17653-112 Street, Edmonton between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m.

-111884 NOGA, John Mr. John Noga of Camrose passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2000 at the age of 85 years. Left to cherish his memory are his brother, Julian (Laura) of Camrose; three sisters-in-law, Mary Noga of Edmonton, Dora Noga of Mameo Beach and Margaret (Ian) Campbell of Coquitlam, B.C. John is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. John was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Annie; three brothers, Peter, Edward, Joseph and three sisters, Ruth, Jean and Mary.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church with Reverend Richard Bednar as Celebrant.
