K-pop star Jonghyun took his own life on December 18, 2017. This week fans paid tribute to the Shinee singer-songwriter.

Tributes paid to Shinee’s Jonghyun two years after death of Korean singer-songwriter

  • A photo of the late singer was posted on the official Shinee Instagram page with the caption, ‘I love you’
  • Jonghyun made his debut with Shinee in May 2008 and his solo debut in January 2015

Fans and South Korean entertainment company SM Entertainment paid tribute to Jonghyun, the late member of K-pop boy band Shinee, on the anniversary of his death this week.

A black-and-white photo of Jonghyun was posted on the official Shinee Instagram page with the caption, “I love you”. The singer born Kim Jong-hyun took his own life on December 18, 2017.

“Jonghyun” became the No 1 trending hashtag worldwide for two hours on Wednesday.

 
The singer made his debut with Shinee in May 2008, when the boy band released their first EP, “Replay”.

The group gained widespread popularity with the release of their first full album with song, Love Like Oxygen, that same year.

Jonghyun made his solo debut with the album Base in January 2015.
