The documents included with this letter signify the designated recipient has attained an official GED®
Credential. The GED® credential, earned on the basis of passing the GED® test, signifies that the student
op
has met all the requirements to be considered a High School graduate. Starting October 20, 2014, the
Office of the State Superintendent of Education of Washington, DC issues this credential for students that
take the GED® test outside the United States. This credential is accepted by over 97% of post-secondary
institutions and employers within the United States and is recognized worldwide.
yo
The attached documents indicate that the student took and passed all the required GED® test subjects to
earn his or her high school equivalency credential. GED Testing Service recommends that employers,
colleges, ministries of education, and other post-secondary educational institutions recognize the GED®
transcript/credential as equivalent to a US High School Diploma and accept it for entrance into post-
secondary programs, qualification for jobs, and for issuance of a local high school credential. The GED®
credential opens doors to new opportunities for students and GED Testing Service has no objection to the
fO
student enrolling in post-secondary institution or program of their choice.
The GED® test which was first developed in 1942 is a nationally recognized and accepted test for High
School equivalency in the United States. It measure students performance on English Reading, English
Writing, Math, Science and Social Studies and uses data from graduating high school seniors as the basis
ffic
for determining high school equivalency. The GED® test is delivered in English. There are over 20
million students that have earned their High School Equivalency credential by passing the GED® test.
In order to increase document security, reduce fraud, and enable processing and distribution of
ial
credentials, GED credentials for International students are fulfilled electronically. GED Testing Service
has partnered with Parchment to launch GED Credentialing®, an electronic credentialing service that
allows test-takers and institutions to easily and securely request records. GED Credentialing® issues a
secure, electronic transcript that uses patented PDF technology to verify the document received is the
same document that was issued the student. You do not need to submit a validation request to GED®
Testing Service to check the authenticity of the documents – the system will alert you if the transcript you
Di
have received has been tampered or altered. While paper transcripts and credentials are still available, we
strongly encourage institutions to request electronic transcripts. To verify authenticity of the
transcript/credential, please see instructions on cover page of the transcript/credential.
