How MPAIHS Rural Farm School gears toward becoming a center of excellence according to DepEd
RO4-A validation team
28 September, 2023/Vol. 001
True to this, the DepEd Region IV-A
Quality Assurance Division Team
composed of Dr. Virgilio O.
Guevarra Jr. EPS II-TLE/TVL, Dr. Ramil
Ginete, Development Field Officer/
Education Program Supervisor of
Field Technical Assistance, Marck
Andro E. Bernabe, Planning Officer III
together with Ms. Janelet E. Fuentes,
Division of Lucena Education
Program Supervisor - TLE fast -
tracked their way to Mayao Parada
Agricultural Integrated High School
and continued their pace to the
Rural Farm School on 28 September
2023.
Dr. Guevarra affirmed the qualifications of MPAIHS teachers
as a good indicator of the school's readiness to be a Rural
Farm School. Much to the delight of the audience, he got
two pieces of good news: the certainty of the school
gaining a Rural Farm School status and the likelihood of
receiving the requested budget for the school from the
DepEd Central Office. “It is with high hopes, and certainly,
there is no doubt that the MPAIHS Rural Farm School has
been prepared to achieve the accolade, ‘center of
excellence’ not only in the Division of Lucena, but also in
Region IV-A CALABARZON,” he said.
Meanwhile, the team of Mayao Parada Agricultural Integrated
High School led by School Head, Ms. Sherin D. Bustamente,
welcomed the guests with her opening remarks. An audio-
visual presentation was shown giving the audience quite a
thrill of the MPAIHS Rural Farm School’s milestones.

2. It should be noted that the Department of Education emphasizes the importance of agriculture, mainly
because the Philippines is primarily an agricultural country. The Republic Act 10618 or the Rural Farm
School Act, which mandates the Department of Education to encourage the establishment of at least
one public rural farm school in every province, promotes farming to learners and encourages them to
be equipped with agricultural skills. Hence, MPAIHS has continued to live up to its mission, that is, to
provide learners with excellent academic achievement and equip them with relevant agricultural skills
and competencies.
The onsite inspection and validation of the Rural
Farm School documentary requirements conducted
by the DepEd Region IV-A Quality Assurance Division
Team was a huge undertaking in its bid to create a
Rural Farm School in DepEd Lucena City in the
realization of the K to 12 Curriculum program.
In sharing responsibilities collaboratively, the RO 4-A
team headed to the MPAIHS Rural Farm School for a
moment of relief from their long journey alongside
