X4 and X12 win at Fin Track Tour, Round 2 in Finland |

During last weekend I attended two races FinTrack Tour, R2 and 12Track Tour, R2 in Vantaa, Finland.
Saturday we competed with 1/10TC cars and I knew in advance that the victory would be very tight because the home track specialist Markku Seppälä had also entered the competition. The first race was missed by Markku, when the ETS race was run at the same time. I got the car working well, but all day I was a little behind Markku. I started from the second starting grid for the finals. Markku won the first final by a small margin. For the second final start, I decided to change the gear ratio, and it helped. Thanks to Markku's small mistake, I got into the lead and was able to ride to win the second final. In the third final, Markku had bad luck with his car and had to give up, and I also lost the win in the third round in the same situation. In the end with equal points, my faster ride in the second final took me to the overall victory! The last race of the series will be held in Oulu on April 6.
Big congratulations to Oiva Metsola for a great third place in the modified class!
On Sunday, we raced with 1/12th class cars, and I knew this would be a frighteningly exciting race as well. Miika Laurila already showed in Äänekoski that victory does not come easy. The track was changed from Saturday to be smaller and more technical after the touring cars and the profile was very successful! With Miika, we had a steady pace all day. In the first two qualifying sessions I had a bit of trouble in the last minute with the rear grip, and both times I lost the win to Miika as the car spun against the pipe in the last laps. I made small changes to the last two and managed to grab the wins and, based on a better time, also a pole position in the finals! The car worked great in the finals and I managed to drive steadily from start to finish! Winning the first two finals guaranteed winning the entire competition! They didn't come easy, but this is racing at its best! Jani Hovi did a great job for placing third with his Xray X12 as well.
In the 1/12th classes, 2/3 of the races are counted to win the series, and by winning the first two races, I also secured the first place in the Finnish Championship 2024 13.5t Efra class!!!
