Some domestic flights in Ireland are operating at just 11 per cent capacity this weekend amid calls to bring a return of the Dublin to Cork air route.

There are currently four internal flight routes available: Dublin to Kerry, Kerry to Dublin, Dublin to Donegal, and Donegal to Dublin. Each route operates twice a day on a seven-day basis.

A survey of domestic flights by The Sunday Times found some aircraft were running at only 11 per cent of their full capacity. Just 22 of 195 seats had been sold on a 4pm flight from Dublin to Kerry next Saturday, while merely 23 out of a possible 72 were booked on the 6.50pm Dublin to Donegal flight on the same day.
