Martini showcased at Rome Airport

As part of the 150th Anniversary celebrations for Martini, the world renowned vermouth and Italian sparkling wine brand – owned by Bacardi Global Travel Retail – has partnered with Aelia Duty Free to open a Martini bar in Rome Fiumicino Airport.
As previously reported, LS Travel Retail Roma and Aeroporti di Roma launched 4,800sq m of modern, expanded stores in a phase one expansion at Rome’s Fiumicino Airport in September.
The Martini bar is in the heart of the newly opened store in Terminal 3 of the airport and has been especially designed to reflect the brand’s ‘150-year association with Italian style and passion’.
From across the store, the bar’s location is signposted by a Martini-branded canopy and a large illuminated Martini logo across the back bar.

ITALIAN-BRAND SHOWCASE
“We wanted to showcase the very best Italian brands in our new-look stores at Fiumicino so it was appropriate that Martini should take centre stage in our extensive liquor store,” said Sabine Fagan, Executive Vice President Purchasing, Aelia Duty Free.
Bacardi says that the bar itself has a high gloss black finish and three bar stools in the red, green and white colours of the Italian flag where consumers enjoy a Martini Royale cocktail before shopping for the ingredients.
The full range of Martini sparkling wines and vermouths are available to purchase in the bar including the limited edition Martini Gran Lusso vermouth released for the 150th Anniversary. The products are displayed on two gondolas and a wall bay with illuminated shelving and the same high gloss black finish as the bar.
“The Martini Royale is an incredibly powerful way of engaging consumers and driving sales by showcasing Martini sparkling wine and Martini vermouth in one drink which is very easy to make at home,” said Aude Rocourt, Regional Director for Europe for Bacardi Global Travel Retail.
“Italians should be justifiably proud of the contribution Martini has made to the world of drinks over the last 150 years. Quite simply, Martini is an Italian classic so we are particularly pleased that in the Italian capital, travellers are celebrating the 150th Anniversary in true Martini style.”
