In Faros

The shortest journey to and from Ikaria is by plane. The airport is located at the eastern end of the island and specifically near the village Faros, about 12 kilometers from the island's capital Agios Kirykos. The operation of the airport began in 1995, when it served only flights to and from Athens.

It serves daily domestic flights, mainly to and from Athens (Athens International Airport - Eleftherios Venizelos) during the winter months, but also to and from airports of other major Greek cities, such as Thessaloniki. During the summer months, there is a connection with other islands, such as Crete (Heraklion) and Lemnos.

Travelers can move to and from the airport by taxi or private car. At the airport you will find parking for a limited time, a car rental office and a refreshment room. From Easter onwards, the traffic is increased in the Airport of Ikaria, so timely and necessary book flights eisitirion and means of transport to and from the airport.
