WASHINGTON, D.C., (WFXR) – U.S. Secretary of Transportation Elaine L. Chao announced on Tuesday that the FAA and the U.S. DOT will award $309,729,391 in airport aid to 47 airports in the Commonwealth due to limited travel that citizens have been making during the public health emergency.
This funding comes as part of the Trump Administration’s Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act Airport Grant Program.
Locally, several airports will receive the following amounts:
- Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport: $20,709,748
- Roanoke Municipal Airport: $20,000
- Lynchburg Regional Airport: $6,647,475
- Virginia Tech/Montgomery Executive: $69,000
- Danville Regional Airport: $69,000
- Ingalls Field: $20,000
- Blue Ridge: $20,000
