4. TAXI<br />

centreline lighting.<br />

5. TRANSPONDER<br />

AD is equipped with Mode S movement<br />

radar.<br />

Pilots should ensure that transponders<br />

are able to operate when ACFT is on<br />

ground.<br />

Activation of Mode S transponder<br />

means selecting: AUTO, ON, XPNDR<br />

or the equivalent according to specific<br />

installation (not OFF or STANDBY).<br />

- Departing ACFT shall select<br />

assigned code and activate the<br />

Mode S transponder at request for<br />

push-back or taxi whichever is latest.<br />

- After LDG have the Mode S<br />

transponder activated until ACFT is<br />

fully parked on stand.<br />

ACFT not being equipped with Mode S<br />

shall select Mode A/C accordingly.<br />

6. RADIO COMMUNICATION FAILURE<br />

PROCEDURE<br />

6.1 Flights able to perform RNAV transitiion<br />

shall proced as follows:<br />

Squawk 7600<br />

6.1.1 If RWY in use is known:<br />

- Proceed in accordance with the<br />

lateral and vertical description of the<br />

RNAV transition (with suffix K, L, M<br />

or N) to the final approach of the<br />

RWY in use.<br />

- While performing the RNAV transi<br />

tion, descend from the last cleared<br />

level to the minimum descent alti<br />

tudes in accordance with the vertical<br />

description of the RNAV transition.<br />

- Perform IAP and land on the RWY in<br />

use.<br />

6.1.2 If RWY in use is not known and there is<br />

calm winds or winds from east, southeast,<br />

south and southwest:<br />

- Proceed according to RNAV<br />

transition (suffix L) to the relevant<br />

IAP for RWY 16.<br />

- While performing the RNAV<br />

transition, descend from the last<br />

cleared level to the minimum descent<br />

altitudes in accordance with the<br />

vertical description of the RNAV<br />

transition.<br />

6.1.3 If RWY in use is not known and there is<br />

winds from west, northwest, north and<br />

northeast:<br />

- Proceed according to RNAV<br />

transition (suffix N) to the relevant<br />

IAP for RWY 34.<br />

- While performing the RNAV<br />

transition, descend from the last<br />

cleared level to the minimum descent<br />

altitudes in accordance with the<br />

6.2 Flights unable to perform RNAV transitiion<br />

shall proced as follows:<br />

Squawk 7600<br />

6.2.1 In the case of calm winds or winds from<br />

east, southeast, south and southwest:<br />

- Proceed at the last cleared level to<br />

WGM and hold.<br />

- Descend to 5000ft.<br />

- Perform IAP, intercept ILS out of<br />

WGM at 5000ft for RWY 16.<br />

6.2.2 In the case of winds from west,<br />

northwest, north and northeast:<br />

- Proceed at the last cleared level to<br />

BRK and hold.<br />

- Descend to 3000ft.<br />

- Perform IAP for RWY 29.<br />

6.3 COM-failure during execution of<br />

the standard missed approach<br />

procedure:<br />

Squawk 7600<br />

6.3.1 In case of calm winds or winds from<br />

east, southeast, south and southwest<br />

(according METAR or FCST):<br />

- After completion of the procedure<br />

fly to WGM and enter holding.<br />

- Perform IAP and land on RWY 16.<br />

6.3.2 In case of winds from west, northwest,<br />

north and northeast (according METAR<br />

or FCST):<br />

- After completion of the procedure<br />

fly to BRK and enter holding.<br />

- Descend to 3000ft.<br />

- Perform IAP and land on RWY 29.<br />

ARRIVAL<br />

1. LOW DRAG - LOW POWER APCH<br />

• Compulsory if WX is above 500ft/2km.<br />

• Keep 250kt (or cruising speed, if less)<br />

below FL100.<br />

• Fly clean configuration as long as<br />

possible. Latest 10nm from THR reduce<br />

speed to 160kt shortly before 4nm from<br />

THR.<br />

2. LOW VISIBILITY PROCEDURES<br />

• LOC sensitive area ensured by ATC<br />

to clear known traffic before LDG CLR<br />

issued.<br />

• Low Visibility Procedures are in effect<br />

when RVR TDZ reaches 600m or less,<br />

and/or ceiling/vertical visibility 200ft or<br />

less.<br />

• LDG CLR issued normally 2nm on final<br />

from THR, in exceptional cases on 1nm<br />

final.<br />

• On ATC request pilots shall report<br />

‘’Runway vacated’’ when aircraft has left<br />

yellow/green TWY lights.<br />

3. High Intensity Runway Operation<br />

3.1 The HIRO is valid from 07-23.<br />

3.2 Good operating practice is to aim for an<br />

exit that can be made, rather than aiming<br />

for an earlier one, just to miss it and roll<br />

slowly to the next.<br />

As far as practicable, the RWY should<br />

always be vacated via the most appropriate<br />

RET for your ACFT type (see tables).<br />

3.3 To avoid stopping on RET after LDG<br />

and vacating RWY 34 or 16, join initially<br />

TWY “D” in direction north and continue<br />

further according ATC clearance. However,<br />

reclearance via TWY “E” by ATC could be<br />

possible.<br />

3.4 (If unable to comply with the HIRO system<br />

advise ATC as soon as possible).<br />

assisted either by Docking Guidance or by<br />

issue a “de-icing number”. Pilots are supposed<br />

to CTC ATC for start-up/push-back<br />

• Marshaller will guide ACFT into deicing<br />
