The accuracy and currency of information contained in this guide is uncertain due to the difficulty in obtaining the<br />

information and the rapidly changing environment. Aviators should always check with a country's aviation<br />

authority or a local aviation handler to determine any specific aircraft airworthiness/equipment and<br />

Entry/Exit Requirements<br />

Entry and exit requirements are for aircraft departing the United States non-stop to country of destination. These<br />

requirements do not include any technical stops. Please refer to Technical Stop section in Additional<br />

Information for the country at which the technical stop will be made.<br />

Entry and Exit documentation forms vary from country to country. In general, however, ICAO member countries<br />

will accept the following standard ICAO Annex 9 Entry/Exit documents:<br />

Aircraft Instruments and Equipment<br />

U.S. airworthiness and certification requirements may not meet other country requirements. It is the responsibility<br />

of the pilot to determine if the aircraft meets those requirements.<br />

The items listed below are for the pilot’s reference to determine if the aircraft meets the minimum instrument and<br />

equipment requirements of the destination country. Additional equipment may be required to comply with the<br />

airspace navigation requirements.<br />

All aircraft operating within Malawi shall carry radio communications and navigation equipment as laid down in<br />

the Seventh schedule to the Aviation (Air Navigation) Regulations, 1970 as amended.[sic]<br />

Operators wishing to overfly or land in Malawi must apply to the Director of Civil Aviation for permission to carry<br />

out such operation not less than forty-eight hours (48hrs) prior to the intended operation.<br />

Float Planes<br />

The IFIM Staff is not aware of any Float Plane requirements or restrictions.<br />

Light Sport Aircraft<br />

The IFIM Staff is not aware of any Light Sport Aircraft requirements or restrictions.<br />

Fees<br />

Users should anticipate varying fees for landing, parking, hangarage, long term storage, passenger services<br />

(departure fee), extended hours and air navigation.<br />

Fuel<br />

Jet A1 and Avgas are available at FWCL and FWKI. There is no fuel available at the remaining AOEs.<br />

VFR/Night VFR<br />

VFR flight shall not be operated above FL150 or at transonic or supersonic speeds.<br />

VFR flights shall not be operated at night except as a Special VFR flight with the appropriate clearance.<br />

The approach charts and other maps and charts published in the AIP may be obtained from the Department of<br />

Civil Aviation (see Designated Authorities).<br />

Public Health Requirements<br />

Aircraft –Aircraft arriving from any locally infected Yellow Fever area (as promulgated by the World Health<br />

Organization) will be sprayed on arrival by the Public Health authorities, unless the pilot-in-command certifies that<br />

the aircraft was properly disinfected immediately prior to taxiing out at the last point of departure within such<br />

locally infected area.<br />
