5. COMMUNICATION FAILURE<br />

PROCEDURES<br />

5.1 If failure occurs before ETA or EAT, when<br />

this has been received and acknowledged:<br />

- Fly to NDB FNY;<br />

- Hold at last assigned level until last<br />

acknowledged ETA plus 10min or EAT<br />

when this have been given;<br />

or if failure occurs after reported over<br />

HP, hold at last assigned level until<br />

ATA plus 10min, or 10min after the<br />

last acknowledged communication with<br />

ATC whichever is later.<br />

- Then commence descent for landing in<br />

accordance with the APCH proc for the<br />

RWY in use and effect landing within<br />

30min (or later is able to APCH and<br />

land visually).<br />

5.2 If radio failure occurs after an ACFT has<br />

reported to ATC on reaching the HP:<br />

Hold at last assigned level at NDB FNY<br />

until:<br />

- ATA over HP plus 10min or 10min after<br />

the acknowledged communication with<br />

ATC, whichever is later; or<br />

- EAT when this has been received and<br />

acknowledged.<br />

6. SPEED<br />

MAX 250kt below FL100.<br />

ARRIVAL<br />

1. NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURES<br />

Unless otherwise instructed by ATC, ACFT<br />

using ILS in IMC or VMC shall not descend<br />

below 2000ft before intercepting GP and<br />

shall not fly below it.<br />

APCH without assistance from R<strong>AD</strong> or ILS<br />

shall follow a descent path not lower than<br />

the ILS GP.<br />

Avoid using more than thrust reverse 23-07<br />

LT.<br />

ENG test only at designated area 07-23 LT.<br />

2. APU<br />

Use of APU shall be limited.<br />

APU should be shut down 5min after ARR<br />

on stand.<br />

DEPARTURE<br />

1. NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURES<br />

1.1 NPR’s terminate at 3000 ft.<br />

1.2 On Take-off Runway 20 take care avoid<br />

overflying the villages of Bawtry, Austerfield<br />

and Harworth-Bircote.<br />

1.3 On Take-off Runway 02 make minor track<br />

adjustment left to track north to minimize<br />

the effect to villages of Blaxton and<br />

Finningley.<br />

1.4 Operators should follow manufacturer’s<br />

noise abatement procedures on departure<br />

and up to FL100 or follow procedures<br />

below:<br />

1.4.1 Take-off to <strong>15</strong>00ft - Normal Take-off -<br />

Speed V 2 +10kt<br />

1.4.2 Take-off to <strong>15</strong>00-3000ft - Reduced thrust<br />

Take-off - Speed V 2 +10kt<br />

Note: Speed may be higher that V 2 +10kt due to<br />

aircraft performance or pitch angle.<br />

1.5 No turns below 500ft.<br />

2. APU<br />

Use of APU shall be limited.<br />

2. INBOUND PROCEDURE OTHER THAN ON AIRWAYS SYSTEM<br />

When entering Doncaster Sheffield CTR/CTA direct from London FIR obtain permission at least<br />

10 min before reaching the boundary. You will be advised of the route to follow consistent with<br />

the current traffic situation.<br />

3. R<strong>AD</strong>AR DIRECTED APPROACH PROCEDURES<br />

3.1 When inbound traffic is being sequenced by radar, the approach procedure will be flown under<br />

direction of the Radar Controller. Aircraft will be given a track to take up according to the<br />

runway-in-use and will be allocated a level. Changes of heading or level will be made only on<br />

instructions from the Radar Controller except in the case of radio communication failure in the<br />

aircraft or at the Radar Unit. When cleared to descend, descend at a rate of at least 500ft per<br />

minute.<br />

3.2 In the event of radar failure, procedures as defined for radar approach will apply. If radio<br />

communication fails at the Radar Unit, pilots on approach will revert to Approach Control for<br />

new instructions.<br />

4. NON-R<strong>AD</strong>AR APPROACH PROCEDURES<br />

When inbound traffic is being sequenced by Non-Radar means, aircraft will be cleared direct<br />

from the holding facility to carry out an Approach Procedure. When cleared, descend in the<br />

FNY hold to 3500, then carry out the required procedure in accordance with the Instrument<br />

Approach charts.<br />
