AIP GEN 3.2- 1SEYCHELLES 2 JUN 11GEN 3.2 AERONAUTICAL CHARTS3.2.1 Responsible serviceThe Civil Aviation Authority <strong>of</strong> Seychelles provides awide range <strong>of</strong> <strong>aeronautical</strong> charts for use by the <strong>civil</strong><strong>aviation</strong> industry. The <strong>aeronautical</strong> information service<strong>of</strong>fice produces the charts which are part <strong>of</strong> the AIP.All other <strong>aeronautical</strong> charts are produced by thedepartment <strong>of</strong> surveys. Charts suitable for pre-flightplanning and briefing, selected from those listed in theICAO Aeronautical Chart Catalogue (Doc7101) areavailable for reference at the AIS Unit. The charts areproduced in accordance with the provisions containedin ICAO Annex 4 Aeronautical Charts. Differences tothose provisions are detailed in subsection GEN 1.73.2.2 Maintenance <strong>of</strong> ChartsThe <strong>aeronautical</strong> charts included in the AIP are kept upto date by amendments to the AIP. Corrections to the<strong>aeronautical</strong> charts not contained in the AIP arepromulgated by AIP amendments. AIP AD 1.1- 1SEYCHELLES 2 JUN 11AD 1. AERODROMES /HELICOPTER LANDING AREAS - INTRODUCTIONAD 1.1 AERODROME / HELICOPTER LANDING AREAS AVAILABILITY1. General conditions under which aerodromes /helicopter landing areas and associated facilities areavailable for use.Commercial flights are not permitted to take <strong>of</strong>f from orland at any aerodrome/heliport not listed in this AIPexcept in cases <strong>of</strong> real emergency or when specialpermission has been obtained from Seychelles CivilAviation Authority.In addition to the aerodrome / heliports available forpublic use listed in this AIP, a number <strong>of</strong> otheraerodromes/airfields are located on some outlying islands.These aerodromes/airfields are available only for privateflights and are subject to permission for use by the owner.Details about these aerodromes/airfields can be obtained atthe address listed below:Seychelles Civil Aviation AuthorityP.O. Box 181VictoriaMaheSeychelles.Landings made other than at Seychelles InternationalAirport or a designated alternate aerodrome/helicopter landing area.If a landing is made other than at Seychelles InternationalAirport or a designated alternate aerodrome withinSeychelles territory, the pilot in command shall report thelanding as soon as practicable to the health, taxation(Import Control) and immigration authorities SeychellesInternational Airport. This notification may be madethrough any available communication link.The pilot in command shall be responsible for ensuringthat:a) cargo, baggage and mail are not removed from theaircraft except as provided below,b) any foodstuff <strong>of</strong> overseas origin or any plant materialis not removed from the aircraft except where localfood is unobtainable. All food refuse includingpeelings, cores, stones, <strong>of</strong> fruit, etc. must be collectedand returned to the galley refuse container, thecontents <strong>of</strong> which should not be removed from theaircraft except for hygiene reasons. In suchcircumstance the contents must be destroyed either byburning or by deep burial.Movement <strong>of</strong> persons and vehicles on aerodromesDemarcation <strong>of</strong> zonesThe grounds <strong>of</strong> FSIA aerodrome is divided into two zones:a) a public zone comprising <strong>of</strong> the part <strong>of</strong> theaerodrome open to the public; andb) a restricted zone comprising <strong>of</strong> the rest <strong>of</strong> theaerodrome.Movement <strong>of</strong> personsAccess to the restricted zone is authorized only under theconditions prescribed by special rules governing the FSIAaerodrome. The taxation (Import Control), police, andhealth inspection <strong>of</strong>fices and the premises assigned totransit traffic are normally accessible only to passengers,to staff <strong>of</strong> the public authorities and airlines and toauthorized persons in pursuit <strong>of</strong> their duty. The movement<strong>of</strong> persons having access to the restricted zones <strong>of</strong> theFSIA aerodrome is subject to the conditions prescribed bythe air navigation regulations and by the special rules laiddown by the Airport Management Section <strong>of</strong> <strong>SCAA</strong>.Movement <strong>of</strong> vehiclesThe movement <strong>of</strong> vehicles in the restricted zones is strictlylimited to vehicles driven or used by persons carrying atraffic permit or an <strong>of</strong>ficial card <strong>of</strong> admittance. Drivers <strong>of</strong>vehicles, <strong>of</strong> whatever type, operating within the confines<strong>of</strong> the FSIA aerodrome must respect the direction <strong>of</strong> thetraffic, the traffic signs and the posted speed limits andgenerally comply with the provisions <strong>of</strong> the HighwayCode and with the instructions given by the relevantcompetent authorities serving the International Airport.PolicingPolicing and security is provided within designatedrestricted zones <strong>of</strong> the aerodrome. Special security servicecan be arranged on demand for aircraft and equipment.Use <strong>of</strong> the helicopter landing areasUnless permission has been granted by Seychelles CivilAviation Authority, the heliports listed in this documentmay be used only for flights in accordance with VisualFlights Rules (VFR).Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority AIP AIRAC AMDT 1/11

The fees and charges referred to shall accruefrom day to day and shall be payable to <strong>SCAA</strong> followingthe termination <strong>of</strong> service or as mutually agreed.c) <strong>SCAA</strong> shall have a lien on the aircraft, its partsand accessories, for such fees and charges as aforesaid.d) If payment <strong>of</strong> such fees and charges is not madeto <strong>SCAA</strong> within 14 days after a letter demanding paymentthere<strong>of</strong> has been sent by post addressed to the registeredowner <strong>of</strong> the aircraft, <strong>SCAA</strong> shall be entitled to selldestroy or otherwise dispose <strong>of</strong> the aircraft and any <strong>of</strong> itsparts and accessories and to apply the proceeds from sodoing to the payment <strong>of</strong> such fees and charges.e) Neither <strong>SCAA</strong> nor any servant or agent <strong>of</strong> thegovernment shall be liable for loss or damage to theaircraft, its part or accessories or any property containedin the aircraft in the event that such loss and damageoccurred while the aircraft was on any aerodrome/heliportunder the control <strong>of</strong> <strong>SCAA</strong> or is in the course <strong>of</strong> landingat or taking <strong>of</strong>f from any such aerodrome/heliport.2.
