So, a little something different today. Well, really different.
We’ve gone about looking at all our Norwegian airport files, all we currently have onboard our computers anyway, and we’ve sorted through them, sort of, rating each based on whether they’re primarily for GA use, GA + RJ use, or primarily heavy metal airports – or all three! We’ve also checked out, and imaged, if the file in question works with TerraMAXX and presents a white winter’s coat of “snow.” Lot’s of permutations arose even so – such as, should an RJ airport include only turboprops. But then, what about aircraft like the A318 or A319, or even the 737-7? Those aircraft will be able to operate at an airport we’d like to think of as an RJ/turboprop airport, so in order to keep things as confusing as possible we’ve included all the smaller single aisle aircraft in the RJ/turboprop category. So, all the E-jets are in this group with all the Canadair CRJs, AND all the smaller Airbus single aisle jets (A318, A319, A320) are included too, along with the smaller Boeing 737-2, 737-3, and 737-7; so, yes, these are included in the RJ category too. The A321 and the larger 737s are lumped in with the rest of the heavy metal clan, and we’re labeling airports as GA, GA+RJ, and GA+RJ+HM. If you see another +H, that means there are dedicated facilities for flutterbugs.
And TerraMAXX compatibility is something of an enigma. If a file has no ortho then TM works. Even so, some trees just don’t appear to work with TM and remain resolutely green. If an airport seems to look as if winter has arrived, we marked it as compatible.
So, why Norway? Well, if you look at and compare countries and regions around the world in X-plane, Norway tends to be at the top of the list of airports developed for the area – and if you think about it the results aren’t all that difficult to understand. Norway is flat-out gorgeous, but it’s also a challenging environment to fly in, AND most of the airports released for Xp11 are really quite good – and that assessment includes both payware AND freeware files. I’m sure there are other regions that compete in sheer numbers and quality, notably…Greece and Alaska…yet many of the airport files in both regions really are in need of work. Also, Norway can look really good with TerraMAXX onboard, but note, we’re saying “can” look, not “does look good.” Many older files are on orthos and have not been adapted to work in TerraMAXX.
Anyway, we’re posting these airports in no particular order, and NOT including all the usual particulars about these files either, such as airlines and destinations served, charts, etc. Some of these we’ve covered before, too, and in more detail (if that’s of interest), so all we’re presenting today is the ICAO identifier, a few images and limited comments, and the most current download link. We hope you find this useful – but if you know of a file we’ve missed or that should have been included, drop us a note at the email link above the post, on the header.
Our next such project will compile other airports in the rest of Scandinavia and Finland. If you have a favorite, please send that information along too, would you? In the end, the hope is to include new files as they’re released; so the idea being all these entries will become repositories of useful information for anyone to access. As such, any ideas or suggestions are more than welcome.

ENBR/RJ+HM+H ops. Not TerraMAXX compatible. Excellent terminal marred by poor parking garage and messy new terminal construction area. Lots of almost invisible interior elements hurt FPS. At the aeroSOFT store and the Org store.
Great airport file marred by poorly executed interior. It’s modeled though barely visible, and with no people or lighted interior elements there’s no depth. An otherwise excellent effort, available from the aeroSOFT and Org stores.
A recent file, this is a spectacular effort with NO issues and it’s highly recommended; available from the aeroSOFT and Org stores.
The commercial facility is closed, the heliport remains a vital link for the local populace. Spectacular setter, the file is available from the aeroSOFT and Org stores. Recommended.

ESSK / GA+RJ / Located c90nmi north of Stockholm. Former Swedish AFB, turned over to local municipality. In past, there have been commercial flights to Stockholm and Gothenburg, now only charter ops in addition to GA operations.
