In Malaysia, we have our fair share of A-list couples, and the most glamourous of them all is none other than Lee Chong Wei and Wong Mew Choo.

The First Couple of Sports (that's what we like to call them) met at a national badminton camp in 2001, when the both of them were back-up shuttlers for the Malaysian squad.

Truly a love story.
Eleven years later, Lee and Wong got married on 9 November.

The couple celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary on Saturday, and the former men's world number one player shared how he first met Wong in a sweet post he uploaded on his Facebook page.

Plucking shuttlecocks

According to the 37-year-old, he and Wong would steal glances at each other, but he was "too shy" to ask for her phone number.

"There was a time, a long time ago, she was there. Sometimes looking at me. Sometimes ignoring me," he wrote.

Aww, look how sweet they are.
He then continued by saying that a teammate of his suggested that he pluck rose petals to see if she likes him, but he told him that he doesn't have the money to buy roses.

Instead, he plucked the feathers from a shuttlecock.

"Baru I tahu shuttlecock 16 feathers (Only then I knew a shuttlecock has 16 feathers)," he said.

He ended the post by saying that he's the luckiest guy on Earth when she agreed to marry him.

"People said I’m lucky to have won many titles. But to me, I feel luckiest to have won your heart," he wrote.

Aww, how sweet is that?

Of course, Chong Wei's extremely sweet post got the thumbs up from his fans and melted hearts left, right and center:

Who knew one of the most feared competitors on the badminton court is such a romantic guy, right?

Never change, LCW and WMC! Congratulations and happy anniversary, you guys!
