Primary international geteway airport of the Philippines. Airport was built by the United States during their rule of the Philippines in the 1930s. Between 1941 and 1945 airport was in the hands of Japanese occupying forces. After the Japanese were expelled from the Philippines, airport was used by USAAF which named it Nichols Field. Home of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) Airport has become one of the busiest in the world. Since 2012 over 30 million passengers are handled annually. |
