When Yuki is grazed by a car on her way home from school, her minor injuries belie the drastic change that has taken place within her: the 'Yuki Nagato' after the accident is not the same person as the Yuki from before. The new Yuki has all of the same memories, but they feel as if they were lived by someone else. How will Yuki's fellow club members react to their new friend? And how will Yuki respond to the lingering impressions of her feelings for Kyon...?

Nostalgia...?
Of course if you are reading this volume, (if you have not read the previous volume STOP READING NOW)then it is safe to assume you have read the three previous installments. That being said the stopping point from last time ended with an almost irritating cliff hanger. Cars and people don't belong on the road at the same time if you catch my drift. Picking up literally in the exact same spot where it left off in the road was a pleasant intro in my opinion, because I felt pretty pessimistic about the chances of the author simply putting a page in saying something like "1 Week Later..." with some cliche explanation to start volume four. Luckily that is not the case and the way the story is told (at a somewhat slower starting pace) kept it original and more acceptable by my standards. I have no intentions of going into detail on the story for one reason, and one reason only. When you read a novel-manga-or whatever, you want to be immersed in the tale and to be taken through the rollercoaster of whatever emotions the writer tries so hard to portray. You read reviews like this one in hope of determining if the poster enjoyed the work and why, if they seem to think like yourself, and if this person feels strongly enough about a product to endorse it. Lucky you. This volume, and i'm not saying this lightly, is actually my favorite of the series as it stands now.Quality of Production - Same as previous installments (9-10)Setting, Plot, & Climax - Absolutely excellent (10-10)Dialogue - Flows smoothly throughout but minor adjustments never hurt (8-10)Artwork & Style - Very high quality - The story relies heavily on the ability to convey the emotions visually. Nailed it (10-10)My final thoughts are still kind of in the honeymoon period since I just finished my read about an hour ago, but still unbiased... no, they are totally biased. While reading through, I found myself playing the Trois Gymnopedies in my head (The melancholy piano BGM from TDoHS Movie), remembering all the little details and the empty sounding voice that is burned in my mind from watching that movie on repeat so many times. You may also get a little sense of nostalgia, whether it be from the way eyes can be drawn to look so blank and cold, or the positioning of a person sitting in a room by a window reading. Trust me, my nostalgia is not unfounded and I hope you decide to find out for yourself. Buy it.

An alternate version of Nagato Yuki-San appears in this volume. This version seems to have all the memories of original, but knows that she is a duplicate. Kind of like 2 people inside one body. This alternate universe's Nagato does not any special powers. She not an alien just a regular person. All the characters are regular people. In this alternate universe, Haruhi Suzumiya attends a different school. It all good fun. Fans of Haruhi will like this alternate series.

You might be surprised how much more compelling the story becomes in this volume!

The series is adorable all around and I really like it how they somewhat stay with the events from the huriah suzemea series I think I spelt it wrong so please don't attack me the real point is this nagato series is still just as good as the one I might of misspelled and make a good collection to any fans of either series

In this volume if you have been keeping up with the volumes from before shows a drastic turn. This causes a lot of problems and relationship starts to build more. Great manga.

After the rather unpleasant cliffhanger of the last volume, I wasn't sure what to expect here. Was the series going to take a more dramatic course? Well yes and no. The comedy is still there, but it took something of a twist.

The Yuki in this volume is not the same Yuki-chan we've been seeing in the past three. She's no longer the rather awkward and funny Yuki of this series, but something more like the classic Yuki of the original series. This makes for a fun "cameo" if you will, but creates problems. For one thing it takes us rather out of the plot we've been following for the past three volumes as this world's Yuki is barely in the story. Thus progression has taken something of a backseat to a different type of story. One that can be considered more dramatic, yes, but doesn't have quite the same feel of importance. Part of the fun of this series has been watching this version of Yuki overcome her shyness and evolve as a character, this volume's Yuki isn't the main protagonist, any character development for her will only be temporary...

It sounds like I'm complaining, but I don't actually think it's bad. Just different from what I expected of this series. I would classify it as my least favorite volume, but I can still happily give it 4 stars.

Enough about complaints though, there are improvements here! My biggest complaint in the first volumes was that a lot of the characters looked too much alike in this art style... that problem has been solved. The artist has obviously improved from the first volumes (just compare any page in this book to volume one), which makes for a much more enjoyable experience.

In closing: The art has improved greatly. The plot is good, but while it seem to want to move things forward, the very nature of this story forces its characters to stand still. It's still enjoyable, but other than resolving the cliffhanger, there's very little progression. Still looking forward to where the next volume will take us.

Volume 3 ends with a great cliffhanger, which is where this one picks up from, and boy is it well written. The characters are very believable, and you see how the universe is affected by even a powerless Yuki Nagato. Really well written, and leads perfectly into volume 5!
