The aircraft, serial number XL426, was retired from the RAF in 1986 and has since been restored to ground running condition by the Vulcan Restoration Trust charity. The charity is entirely public donation funded and saw a COVID-limited number of paying guests inside the airport. A second run in the afternoon included a planned deployment of the braking parachute to slow the jet down
