RM2D344AR–Accident investigators were trying to discover today why two RAF pilots died while practising emergency landings at a fighter base.The two men were killed late yesterday when their Canberra plane crashed on the runway at RAF Marham near King's Lynn, Norfolk. Station commander Group Captain Bob McAlpine speaking at a press confrence said flying from the base had been abandoned until investigators finish examining the aircraft, which was lying on the main runway.
