It carries a crew of four, and has accommodations for 12 passengers, or 12 litter cases as a rescue or ambulance aircraft. The planes are based at Coast Guard Air Stations throughout the country, and are particularly valuable in off-shore operations. The 'Albatross', with a maximum fuel load, has a cruising range of approximately 2,800 nautical miles.
